Adhikari News, Chandigarh: The General Secretary of the All India Congress Committee, In-charge of Uttarakhand, former Union Minister and Member of Parliament from Sirsa constituency, Kumari Selja has written a letter to Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, demanding the repair of entry points in Sirsa and Fatehabad. Along with this, Kumari Selja has also demanded an impartial investigation into the drain constructed on the highway at a cost of ₹61 crore.
Kumari Selja informed that through the letter the Union Minister that lights and signboards need to be installed at the entry points of Sirsa and Fatehabad on the Hisar-Sirsa four-lane highway.
She said that Fatehabad town is located on NH-10, and travellers entering Fatehabad from Hisar or Sirsa from Fatehabad, especially at night, face challenges due to the absence of lights or signboards. This causes vehicles to move in the wrong direction or directly ascend the highway.
Travellers entering Sirsa may inadvertently head toward Dabwali, and similarly, vehicles in Fatehabad often go in the wrong direction. Additionally, on the Hisar-Dabwali stretch, around 41 km of drains have been constructed on both sides near key towns and villages at a cost of ₹61 crore.
However, the slabs of these drains have broken, rendering them unusable. The funds spent on these drains for rainwater drainage have been wasted, and an impartial investigation into this expenditure is necessary.
Through her letter, Kumari Selja urged the Union Minister to ensure proper lighting and installation of signboards at these two locations.
She also requested the repair of the drains and proper rainwater drainage systems to prevent inconvenience for travellers and local residents.
